Clare graduated from RVC in London in 2003 and started her career in mixed practice in Norfolk. After a year of treating all sorts of animals, she decided to concentrate on companion animals. She has worked in many practices since then moving when life dictated, using each practice to learn new skills from the people around her. Most recently she worked as clinical director for four years at Golden Valley vets in Nailsea, mentoring the younger members of the team and getting involved with different aspects of management. Looking to get back to more client based work, she started work part-time at Community vets last year and has taken over training our student nurse Kirsty. She works hard to ensure the highest quality of care for her patients and loves getting to know her clients and their pets, which helps to tailor the treatment she gives to the specific client-pet combination. She loves the challenge of a complex case and enjoys diagnostic ultrasound. She is very passionate about therapies that complement traditional medicine and encourages the use of laser and acupuncture which she is trained to provide.
Outside of work, she is a single mum who loves spending time with her kids, and when time allows she loves walking in the country side, swimming, singing and musical theatre. She loves all animals, and since losing her beloved whippet lurcher in 2016, she now has a very cuddly cat and three guinea pigs.
