For your convenience, Community Vets, following a consultation and clinical exam, dispense and supply Veterinary Prescription only Medicines (POM-Vs). Please note that POM-Vs can only by prescribed and dispensed to patients who are directly under our care. Please feel free to request the price of any medicines that we advise to treat your pet.
Repeat Prescriptions
Community Vets have a policy of re-assessing patients requiring repeat prescriptions at least every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The standard charge for re-examination is £38.00.
Veterinary Written Prescriptions
We are happy, on request, to provide a written prescription for POM-Vs for patients directly under our care. This allows you to purchase prescribed POM-Vs from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy. The fee for providing a written prescription is £9.50 (although there is no charge for Community Vets Members).
(Please note that a written prescription for POM-Vs may not be appropriate if your pet needs immediate treatment or treatment whilst being hospitalised).
